Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-GBP1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-GBP1 antibody
Function: Hydrolyzes GTP to GMP in 2 consecutive cleavage reactions. Exhibits antiviral activity against influenza virus. Promote oxidative killing and deliver antimicrobial peptides to autophagolysosomes, providing broad host protection against different pathogen classes.
Subunit Structure: Homodimer; homodimerization occurs upon GTP-binding and is required for the second hydrolysis step from GDP to GMP. Heterodimer with other family members, including GBP2, GBP3, GBP4 and GBP5. Dimerization regulates subcellular location to membranous structures.
Post-translational Modifications: Isoprenylation is required for proper subcellular location.
Similarity: Belongs to the TRAFAC class dynamin-like GTPase superfamily. GB1/RHD3-type GTPase family. GB1 subfamily.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-GBP1 antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-GBP1 antibody
WB: 1:500-1:1000
IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500
Western Blot (WB) of anti-GBP1 antibody
Western blot analysis of extracts from HUVEC cells, using GBP1 antibody. The lane on the left is treated with the antigen-specific peptide.

Immunofluorescene (IF) of anti-GBP1 antibody
MBS9605054 staining HuvEc cells by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) antibody, diluted at 1/600, was used as secondary antibody.

NCBI Summary for GBP1
Guanylate binding protein expression is induced by interferon. Guanylate binding proteins are characterized by their ability to specifically bind guanine nucleotides (GMP, GDP, and GTP) and are distinguished from the GTP-binding proteins by the presence of 2 binding motifs rather than 3. Research Articles on GBP1
1. Here, we show that the human protein GBP1 acts as a cytosolic "glue trap," capturing cytosolic Gram-negative bacteria through a unique protein motif and preventing disseminated infections in cell culture models. To escape from this GBP1-mediated host defense, Shigella employs a virulence factor that prevents or dislodges the association of GBP1 with cytosolic bacteria.
