It is an enzyme that catalyzes the degradation of sulfatides, a glycosphingolipid found in many tissues, but predominantly in myelin and kidney. The serum level of its might be helpful in diagnosis of lung and central nervous system cancer. Recombinant mouse Arsa, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
