Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-c-jun antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-c-jun antibody
c-Jun, also known as AP1, v-Jun or AH119, is a component of the transcription factor AP-1, which binds and activates transcription at TRE/AP-1 elements. The transcriptional activity of c-Jun is regulated by phosphorylation at Ser63 and Ser73 as well as Thr 91 and Thr93. Extracellular signals including growth factors, transforming oncoproteins and UV irradiation stimulate phosphorylation of c-Jun at Ser63/73 and activate c-Jun-dependent transcription. The MAP kinase homologue SAPK/JNK binds to the amino-terminal region of c-Jun and phosphorylates c-Jun at Ser63/73 and Thr91/93. The phosphorylation of Thr239 is catalysed by The inhibition of GSK3 is not required for the dephosphorylation of Thr239 in response to LPS, and nor is the phosphorylation of Thr91 and Thr93 required for the TPA- or EGF-induced dephosphorylation of Thr239 in fibroblasts. The agonist-induced dephosphorylation of Thr239 may involve a conformational change that exposes Thr239 to dephosphorylation and/or the activation of a Thr239 phosphatase.

UniProt Comments for c-jun
Function: Transcription factor that recognizes and binds to the enhancer heptamer motif 5'-TGA[CG]TCA-3'.
Subunit structure: Heterodimer with either FOS or BATF3 or ATF7
By similarity. The ATF7/JUN heterodimer is essential for ATF7 transactivation activity. Interacts with MYBBP1A, SP1, SPIB and TCF20. Interacts with COPS5; indirectly leading to its phosphorylation. Interacts with DSIPI; this interaction inhibits the binding of active AP1 to its target DNA. Interacts with HIVEP3. Component of the SMAD3/SMAD4/JUN/FOS/complex which forms at the AP1 promoter site. The SMAD3/SMAD4 heterodimer acts syngernistically with the JUN/FOS heterodimer to activate transcription in response to TGF-beta. Interacts (via its basic DNA binding and leucine zipper domains) with SMAD3 (via an N-terminal domain); the interaction is required for TGF-beta-mediated transactivation of the SMAD3/SMAD4/JUN/FOS/complex
By similarity. Interacts with RNF187
Subcellular location: Nucleus
Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation enhances the transcriptional activity. Phosphorylated by PRKDC
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the bZIP family. Jun subfamily.Contains 1 bZIP domain.
