Peptide ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-GPX6 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 64000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 37kDa band in lysates of cell lines HepG2 and HeLa after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 24.9kDa according to NP_874360.1. The 37kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

NCBI Summary for GPX6
This gene product belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family, which functions in the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide. It contains a selenocysteine (Sec) residue at its active site. The selenocysteine is encoded by the UGA codon, which normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTR of Sec-containing genes have a common stem-loop structure, the sec insertion sequence (SECIS), which is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. Expression of this gene is restricted to embryos and ***** olfactory epithelium. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
