Chromosome: 12; NC_000012.11 (44152747..44183346). Location: 12q12
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for Q69FE3
Specificity
IRAK-4 [Rabbit polyclonal antibody to IRAK-4]
This antibody specifically recognizes human IRAK-4 (IL-1 Receptor Associated Kinase). IRAK-4 activates the NF- kappa B and MAPK pathways, and plays a role in IL-1R mediated inflammatory responses and innate immunity. Anti-IRAK-4 does not crossreact with other IRAKs.
Form/Format
100 ug IgG in PBS, pH 7.4,purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Antigen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to the carboxy terminus of human IRAK-4.
Preservatives
0.02% sodium azide
Dilutions Instructions
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C; stable for one year
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-IRAK4 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for IRAK4
This gene encodes a kinase that activates NF-kappaB in both the Toll-like receptor (TLR) and T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling pathways. The protein is essential for most innate immune responses. Mutations in this gene result in IRAK4 deficiency and recurrent invasive pneumococcal disease. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [supplied by RefSeq]
UniProt Comments for IRAK4
IRAK4: a TKL kinase of the IRAK family. The interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinases are important mediators in the signal transduction of Toll-like receptor and IL1R family members, collectively referred to as TIRs.

Research Articles on IRAK4
1. These results indicate that IL-1beta-induced IL-6 production in A549 cells is mediated by both PI3K and IRAK4 and suggest that involvement of PI3K in the IL-1-induced IL-6 production is cell type specific.
