This FMR1 antibody is generated from mice immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 20-48 amino acids from human FMR1.

Mouse monoclonal antibody supplied in crude ascites with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.

Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Small volumes of anti-FMR1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

The protein encoded by this gene binds RNA and is
associated with polysomes. The encoded protein may be involved in
mRNA trafficking from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. A trinucleotide
repeat (CGG) in the 5' UTR is normally found at 6-53 copies, but an
expansion to 55-230 repeats is the cause of fragile X syndrome.
Expansion of the trinucleotide repeat may also cause one form of
premature ovarian failure (POF1). Multiple alternatively spliced
transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms and
which are located in different cellular locations have been
described for this gene.
