Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of CK-17 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS163263 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the cytokeratin 17, CK-17, ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CK-17. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS163263 kit is based on CK-17 antibody-CK-17 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CK-17 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CK-17. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

CK-17 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Cytokeratin 17 (also known as CK-17) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human CK-17 antibody. CK-17 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human CK-17
Antibody is added and binds to CK-17 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CK-17 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human CK-17. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Summary for CK-17
This gene encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 17, expressed in nail bed, hair follicle, sebaceous glands, and other epidermal appendages. Mutations in this gene lead to Jackson-Lawler type pachyonychia congenita and steatocystoma multiplex. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]
UniProt Comments for CK-17
Type I keratin involved in the formation and maintenance of various skin appendages, specifically in determining shape and orientation of hair (). Required for the correct growth of hair follicles, in particular for the persistence of the anagen (growth) state (). Modulates the function of TNF-alpha in the specific context of hair cycling. Regulates protein synthesis and epithelial cell growth through binding to the adapter protein SFN and by stimulating Akt/mTOR pathway (). Involved in tissue repair. May be a marker of basal cell differentiation in complex epithelia and therefore indicative of a certain type of epithelial "stem cells". Acts as a promoter of epithelial proliferation by acting a regulator of immune response in skin: promotes Th1/Th17-dominated immune environment contributing to the development of basaloid skin tumors (). May act as an autoantigen in the immunopathogenesis of psoriasis, with certain peptide regions being a major target for autoreactive T-cells and hence causing their proliferation.

1. Narrow-band ultraviolet B irradiation could downregulate K17 expression by inhibiting the ERK1/2 and STAT3 signaling pathways.
